A new track from Lumination and it is much a blue rock track than a funk rock, thanks to Jay Lock's involvement. Composed by Derrick Whitt (elder statesman, vocals and bass of the band) and Jay Lock, Contradiction does not need lyrics. It speaks for itself.

Derrick has survived his 41st Birthday without anyone working his patience or intimidate him, and now he is ready to get back to work on his solo project with putting new stuff for Lumination.

He is looking for a keyboardist and drummer to do his first jazz EP so he is going to look for local musicians to do this.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DERRICK LOVELLE WHITT!!! CONSIDER YOURSELF LUMINATION'S ELDER STATESMAN, CO-FOUNDER, VOCALS AND BASS GUITARIST!!!!

Two days from now...Derrick Whitt turns 41 and the oldest member of Lumination. He has been in the band since it was formed with Denard Drew over four years ago, and it is one year ago that Mike Payne jammed with Derrick, and joining Lumination.

On August 10, 2009 send a big b-day shout to Derrick!

Jon's girlfriend, Maya Kilgore, is a hell of drummer and she had been playing for one year though she can play keyboards, like bassist Derrick Whitt. A very good chance is there for her to be part of the band. Now, we need to switch up on the band's positions...

Jon Grey: Vocals, rhythm guitars
Maya Kilgore: Drums, backing vocals
Mike Payne: Vocals, lead guitars
Derrick Whitt: Vocals, bass

Our first female drummer for the band.

Do you love your radio stations – the music, news and traffic? Do you love getting your music for FREE? It’s all in danger! Everything you love about your radio station could be a thing of the past! Unless you act NOW! There are bills before congress that threaten free music on the radio. The foreign owned record companies and misinformed artists want congress to establish a tax where stations would pay for the right to play music on the radio. This additional tax would change radio and put music radio stations in danger of going silent.

Lumination now has a new drummer and he is more colorful than Mike and Derrick put together, and we like to welcome Jon Grey to the band. He is freaking awesome on drums, bass, guitars and vocals...just what Lumination needed! So don't be surprise to see the trio switch up on instruments.

Lumination must stress that the band will be remaining independent so that the band can have the absolute right to the creativity, production, recording and distribution. Since the non-RIAA groups will not allow Lumination to be among other bands in the umbrella, it is our intention to make it known to all musicians and recording companies.

The Syracuse Boys cannot wait to go out and perform but at a private wedding reception in Herkimer, but folks can stop on the road to get an earful of Lumination. Or after the jam, folks can get a sample CD from them.

Joining Lumination will be Reuben Whitt, the brother of bassist Derrick Whitt, sitting on the set as vocals and keyboards. This is going to be good when the brothers share the limelight...but it will one hyped up party!

Michael Payne has proven time and time again that he is at his best with another sound to Lumination's super jams, especially he can do dual role as lead and rhythm guitarist.

And what can you say about Derrick Whitt on the bass??? Whatever he took the night of auditioning with Ron, this brotha was put it on us...all of that slapping and funking on his Samick 4 string Precision. He made it sing...

For a fusion rock band, Lumination can give out the funk...the Michael Corleone of Syracuse rock bands.
